Yes, Kevin Nolan. Wait, let me finish!

Currently a free agent so could be quite easy to get done by the Southampton game, already played under Pardew so Pardew will know how to use him. In the absence of Wickham and Bolasie he could potentially do a better role at supporting Chamakh than McArthur or Zaha. He wouldn't be the most fashionable signing and I remember him celebrating at the Holmesdale end a few seasons ago but he does have a few goals in him.

Of course the jump in quality in the premier league may have left player like him behind and this is very much a plan B suggestion. I of course have no idea of his current level of fitness (I think he's been training with Leyton Orient) but if the places exist within the squad, which I think they do; Bamford and Campbells places, then I see very little that it could cost us.

I might be wrong but I have a feeling that Nolan probably only played under Pardew at Newcastle for about half a season.
It was Joe Kinnear who signed him for Newcastle from Bolton.

Not good enough for West Ham, legs have gone, out of shape, thug and total tool. Just what we need to move to the next level.

They said similar things about Kevin Phillips.

And they were proven to be right in the Premier. Good Championship player with us, and perhaps that would be more suitable for Nolan as well. Watched him a couple of times at the end of his tenure with West Ham. Seemed to be more interested in having a fight than playing football.

Seriously? This has to be trolling. I mean the statement is so bizarre and outlandish that I'm unable to even post a serious response. Out of interest, is there a single person out there who agree with this? Is it just me?

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

I'm not suggesting he is anywhere comparable to McArthur or Zaha, only that Nolan has played the advanced midfielder/ second striker role. McArthur and Zaha were wasted in those positions against Swansea. Zaha was asked to do a similar job to what Bolasie does most weeks, which is to drift in centrally sometimes rather than hug the touch line. McArthur and Cabaye were played at times in a more advanced position than normal. Neither seemed to work, mainly because of the lack of physicality up front.
