The Top 2+ January signings and WHY

After watching all the youtubes of the names rumoured, my wish is for Benik Afobe and Shelvey. Benik's goals, depite being championship goals, are pure class and I can see him scoring in the PL. He's strong, ballsy, fast and powerful - just like a Bolasie. Shelvey was awesome to watch: killer pass after killer pass. What we still lack. I can see why AP wants them both. All our strikers would score more with Shelvey's servicing. He must have an awesome football brain and vision. So, for me, the best January would be these two. ALSO: Damian Delaney... For me, he's been playing 'above himself', not with plenty in reserve like the other back 3. He makes mistakes. I think it might be his football brain. 1 nil up and he handballs... 2-1 up and he handballs again... He doesn't read the play and over-commits to a killer pass that gets Chelsea the crucial first goal...that pass looked weak and he couldn't cover it because I don't think he 'saw' it coming. Shoot me down and tell me I'm dead wrong - I am no expert - but he looks a liability to me. So I'd like to see money spent on a quality CB to support Dann. BTW, I think the team has done wonderfully considering our injuries and 7th poz is awesome. If I'm a jerk saying that about Damo tell me and I'll take it on the chin.

Agree we need to look at the spine of the team so ideally I would like to see CB - Someone who can step into DD/BH shoes for next season CM - A passer and someone with some creativity CF - We need some pace, power and above all some finishing ability

First time long time. Dream signings would be Austin to compete and rotate with Wickham, Caulker as cover and Damo successor, Afobi to replace Gayle as a high upside squad striker, and Shelvey to compete with Puncheon and add a 4th CM that fits our system in case of injury, suspension etc. Would also love to sign Redmond, perhaps in a swap deal with Gayle, but i think that might be getting a bit greedy. That would make my post January team; Hennessey
