Here's the police report into the Cologne events... I'm informed that its a lot different to what the press are saying, just want it confirmed.

POL-K: 160101-1-K/LEV atmosphere - largely peaceful celebrations

01.01.2016 08:57

Köln (ots) - the Cologne police takes stock

As in the previous year, most new year's Eve celebrations on the Rhine bridges, in downtown Cologne and Leverkusen went peacefully. The policemen mainly got involved in assault offences and breaches of the peace.

By Thursday evening (December 31) 18:00 hours till this morning (January 1) at 6: 00, there were 94 policemen in the city of Cologne, and in Leverkusen they issued two restraining orders. So far 20 claims for property damage were received by the police (previous year: 25). The number of personal injury offences was 78; in Cologne it increased slightly compared to last year. 80 events required Police attention. In Leverkusen, officials recorded 4 offences of this kind (last year: 5). the number of reported breaches of the peace rose when compared to the previous year (76, 8 of which are located in Leverkusen). Policemen were involved in 80 cases, including 7 in Leverkusen due to loud parties until 6am.

Shortly before midnight, the station forecourt in the area of the staircase to the Cathedral had to be evacuated by a uniformed man. To prevent a stampede by firing pyrotechnic munitions at the circa 1000 revelers, officials began to clear the area in the short term. Despite the unplanned celebration the location's aymosphere proved to be relaxed - also because the police proved to be well prepared and present in neuralgic (?) locations. (st)

Interesting, thanks for that pefwin.
Seems very different to other reports, surely 1000 men raping people would appear on there somewhere. No doubt the truth lies somewhere inbetween...
Either that or it's BS used to stoke division.

I personally think that the thread relating to this:

should not have been locked. I'd prefer the users that were sailing close to the wind be properly dealt with.

It does not help to suppress debate or brush things under the carpet, as we are starting to see in Germany (now over 100 complaints to the police relating to this enrichment-gang).

Are the police in any country well known for writing reports that admit they were not up to scratch? Or totally useless, according to the witnesses and victims.

And at 08.57 am the day after, do you think they will have known the full extent of events that night? Let alone that it also occurred in other German cities?

It takes 20-50 years for victims of abuse to report some events and they're all immediately taken as being credible. Yet you doubt over 90 odd official complaints to the police (including one by a policewoman) within hours of each other.

Optimistic as ever

On a more personal level I don't trust Pefwin's translation!

I didn't really read it, as it's pretty irrelevant, but presume it's just a google translate job?

Nick seems to think that him finding that means all the news reports, police complaints and subsequent protests are all just a pack of lies, embellishment or simply media hysteria. Or at least that's the angle I think he's working from, I may be wrong.

I'm sure I wrote tghat the truth lies somewhere between what the police and the nedia say,. But as usual, you chose to ignore that which is pretty par for the course for you stuk.

As it is, latest I've heard was that the grabbing of arses and tits was a ruse to allow pickpocketing to take place.

Happened to one of my dad's mates many years ago. A salt put her hands on his genitals whilst her mate half inched his wallet!

I thought this Police report had been discredited by the Police themselves who admitted it wasn't accurate.

And yes, I believe it was largely a way to mug or otherwise rob. Soft target, sexual assault scares the hell out of everyone and families likely to give up their valuables to protect their women folk.

What is weird is how this tactic seems to have been used in a coordinated way across German railway stations.

Always hated German stations - I know Frankfurt well, packed with low-lives on the take just outside the doors. Paris too, we don't really have anything like these problems in the UK (even East Croydon...)

Hadn't seen that.
