The new revised UK lottery is a farce.... there was nowt wrong with the old rules! Introducing 10 more numbers has dramatically affected the odds of getting six numbers to match. The changes lengthened the odds of winning a jackpot from 1 in 14 million to 1 in 45 million. As a result, fewer people have won jackpots, and the unclaimed jackpot money has been rolled over to the following draw many times. So.... instead of creating multiple millionaires over a few weeks the new rules created two winners last night both getting £33M. I play the Postcode lottery for £10 a month, modest prizes but more chance of picking up a win.

The logic behind reducing the odds of winning the jackpot must be that the bigger the price the more people will 'invest.' Guess that must be human nature - many people not bothered when only a couple of million up for grabs!
