Just an FYI, Parish was on Talksports late last night. Said our transfer window business was not over...got the impression we'd like to bring in more than just one. But he implied that FFP came into the equation and we'd likely be moving some on to make room for incomings.

I hope he's right. Still think we need another striker and a midfielder/winger... Do agree about moving some on to. Jedi and Campbell would be the first that spring to mind.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

I've looked at the rules surrounding FFP and they seem to be very complicated but assuming that it's both wages and amortisation that need to be controlled then Dwight Gayle is the player that could cut our costs most, especially if he is sold at a profit so perhaps our transfer activity depends on being able to move him on.

Jedinak is another who is probably a cost as being club captain will mean that he's on good wages and I guess that it's either him or Ledley that will go

I'm actually surprised there hasn't been more interest in Jedi and Ledley. At almost any club at the wrong end of the table (Villa, Sunderland, Newcastle, Norwich, Bournemouth) either would be a brilliant signing. Both battlers, leaders, grafters and solid players with experience of a fight.

I really don't get this FFP business. This 'simple' BBC guide to how it works seems to indicate that the only criterion is losses (i.e. clubs that make a defined loss can't just cover it by the owners putting more money in without suffering penalties). It has a clear aim of preventing overspending.

As Palace haven't been making large losses and have, in fact, made a profit recently it's difficult to see how we could fall foul of the regs, particularly compared to other big spenders.

Adebayor arrangement IS sound business deal despite my earlier protestations in so far that it provides the striker with the carrot to really prove himself and revitalise his career without breaking our bank.

Can't help but think that we need another striker though.

Need a creative player to play in behind Wickham/Adebayor. Pretty certain that would only happen if we can get rid of one or two. Gayle looks the obvious one as there is interest for him, ideally Campbell would move on, that may end up being a loan. Also one of Jedi/Ledley to go, do we really need both?

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

I can't see us, letting three strikers go (Bamford, Gayle and Campbell) with only Adebayor joining up front, can you? We don't know anything about EA's current fitness and Chamakh is a bit of a sick note (as has Wickham been), so we would be leaving ourselves a bit short don't you think?

Hope we don't sell Jedinak. Rather see Ledley go, not really sure what he offers anymore.

I'd rather keep Ledley as i can't see what Jedinak(ered) offers anymore tbh.

Time to move forward together.

Ledley, Gayle and Campbell out. Diame and Remy in.

Let's not forget we only play with one upfront anyway so would have Adebayor, Remy, Wickham and Chamakh to choose from. Mo Diame would give us that Yaya Toure style drive through the middle, challenging Puncheon for a place (who needs a kick up the backside in my opinion!)
