This guy flew from Sheffield to Essex via Berlin and was cheaper than the train !

One year it was cheaper for me to get a return flight to Newcastle from Geneva for the match than it was for a UK supporter to get the coach from Selhurst Park to the game.

Spent sometime working in Glasgow, and the prices were generally pretty close, but when you consider that by train it was 8 hours on the train, and by plane it was 1 hour and fifty minutes, from my door to the hotel, it was no competition really.

Obviously there was an advantage of being able to use the Reading Link to Heathrow.

National Express was far cheaper, but around 10-12 hours...
