With McClaren now sacked & Benitez taking over, surely this is not good news for us & other relegation strugglers.
But has he got experience for relegation dog-fight?

Personally I think it's too late for them maybe a big name like rafa might boost the players but no one there seems to want to win just happy with the pay check

My Chelski mates reckon he's just a fat Spanish waiter, apparently.

They have 11 first team players out injured and a defence that can't defend. It's very late to come in and make any real changes and Benitez is used to managing at the top. I quite like him, but I hope it all blows up in their faces. They finally get a manager of real quality and it turns out they're just s**t. That would be funny

What I cannot understand is that he has a get out clause if they get relegated ! What sort of commitment is that and why would you even consider employing someone who did not commit to the club or even offer such a contract. All very strange. Good manager and it will certainly give them a boost. If we are not on our toes now we had better be because the pressure is ramping up !

There are more problems at Newcastle than just a manager. They have games coming up against Sunderland & Norwich. 6 points from those games and then I'll start to worry about them.

He will no doubt also have a clause with a pound sign and lots of numbers after it IF he deoes keep them up too tho.

He's too big a deal to be managing a championship team but wants to get back into english management so its a win win for him. If he keeps them up, he's hit the jackpot, succeeding with the impossible task and getting a big bags o bunce in the process....

If they go down it will be like a quickie with a girl that's probably out of your league.

If he has an ok start they will stay up. Really hope he doesn't

And even then, those 6 points might benefit us with Villa surely doomed

On 33 points our concern isn't whether or not Newcastle turn it around, its more about whether or not we can get 4-6 points from 30.

If we were tight in with the bottom four, maybe their manager would make a difference, but really, if we go down, it will because we are too s**t to stay up.
