I'm seeing my godchildren next weekend and can't think of any presents to get them. One is a 3 and a half year old boy and one is a 5 year old boy, just started primary school. Anyone else with kids got any recommendations on what the kids are into at that age? I'm sure at that age I just used to like the box that whatever I got came in, maybe I should get them two cardboard boxes?

Scooters but they probably already have them. Failing that - SuperHero stuff.

Cash...just make sure you've checked the tax implications first...wouldn't want any Holers demanding you release your private information in order to sate their thirst for blood though!

I remember when I was young and we were hard up I got an empty box for Christmas. My Dad told me it was an Action Man Deserter.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

Star Wars toys. My go to for gifts for kids has always been things I would probably like to play with. My 11 year old Nephew has just become officially 'into Star Wars', having seen the new film and the other two trilogies (and to my delight, proclaiming the original and the new film proper star wars, and the prequels as rubbish). 3 and 5 is probably a bit young, but the important thing is that you and the father will bond over an 'X-wing' and the kids will probably play with the box. Great thing about Star Wars, is that like Lego, its the kind of thing that once they're into it, your set for some time to come.

MPs would probably be keen to see gifts exchanged for young children, but I'm not sure it has tax implications. I suspect many MPs present and past have exchanged cash gifts for children....

"My first AR-15" seems pretty popular in the States. All the best toy trends start there.

Going on what my 4 year old grandson and his friends are into, I`d agree with Kermit about the superhero stuff. Batman seems to be the most popular of them.
Is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour? [Link] |
