remember being at Ashburton seniors, early 70s.
we had an open air swimming pool.
'Raise the Roof' sponsored walks/runs/fetes/weasel killing , you name it, to raise funds to put a roof on the s***e outdoor pool.
this was still going on even into the late 80s when siblings were there.
the roof never happened but the teachers went on some great school ski-winter holidays.

it'll never happen, just a new burger outlet, 5 guys hopefully.

I'm trying to remember the outdoor pool we used to go to. I'm thinking either Catford, Lewisham or Beckenham? Who needs a roof? There were at least two days a year you'd dare to jump in. Plus there was nearly always a 'floater'.

I remember the old outdoor pool on the Purley Way some of it was 15 foot deep I think, always freezing cold and if you went off the high board you would probably die. It’s a garden centre now but some bits are still there

We only need the land and build from scratch and if viable they can ground share and pay us low rent .
