Have you ever noticed that certain sportsmen bear an uncanny resemblance to dinner ladies. Probably not, but dinner ladies do have a certain look - bit like Bella Emberg usually, battered face with hook nose and mumsy expression. A friend of mine and cricket enthusiat once observed that Bob Woolmer and Pat Pocock look like dinner ladies, I've always seen Roy Hodgson and Steve Bruce with aprons dolling out the custard with skin on, but the undeniable dinner lady to beat them all is golfer Colin Montgomery.
