As we come towards the end of another season in the premiership, with aother one to come and a cup final to play, i gotto thinking about the above.

The clowns have done us proud and got themselves relegated again, the neandertals are in the play offs but likely to blow it and the tesco boys will do likewise. All in all a good season.

If we'd won the cup, it would've gone down as a perfect season. But still, it does cheer me up thinking about these three teams having a worse time than us. COYP!

Subject to medical, we are about to spend £32,000000 on 1 player! That's the entire budget of our 3 good friends for the next 10 years. MIND THE GAP.

The jealousy is eating them alive on NSC:

How boring are the continual administration jibes? And from a club that loses over £1m a month and owes Tony the Lizard over £130m, over six times more than we owed in 2010. If I were them, I'd be thinking Bolton and being very afraid.

Hang on a minute, weren't you lot against modern football? That's what the HF banners said didn't they, 'AMF' ? You even had a few protests didn't you? And here you are gloating about spending £32 million on a slightly-better-than-average premier league striker and the gap between the premier league and the rest of the football league!?

You've soon changed your tunes. That didn't take long! Took a sip from the Devils (Murdochs) cup and that's it, fully paid up premier league sheep. two years ago you had a protest on transfer deadline day. I bet yesterday half of you was w****** yourselves in to a frenzy at the thought of signing Wiltshire on loan for a £100k+ a week.

Personally im not a HF, but I love the gap between us and our rivals. That's healthy football in my book.

He does make a pretty valid point. Is it possible to be ambivalent about modern football? I am indeed still against the stupid money in football, but given that everyone else is doing it, I'm glad we're keeping up.

If everyone at once stopped spending so much money and reduced ticket prices that'd be great for everyone. If it was just Palace that did it we'd be playing in the conference.

Actually, the point was barely valid at all now I think about it. But it did make me think.

Maybe the OP should have taken into account the fees we received in.

Net spend around £10m

So lots of ' big numbers ' but overall not a huge outlay.

As for protests .....well, the tickets for away fans has now been capped at £30 which is progress.

Do I want my club playing at the highest level ? - Yes of course I do. And make no apologies for it.

Still gloating about spending 32 mill on Benteke? Or are you all back to being against modern football?

How's that gap between yourselves and Brighton looking these days? Getting smaller by the day by the looks of it.
