Apparently they decided to call the submarine on board Boaty-McBoatface as a sort of consolation. That's stupid though, it should have been Submariney-McSubmarineface.

There should be a public enquiry into this scandal especially the Scottish name. Perhaps in the name of equality they could also suggest Boaty O'Boatface, Taffy Daffydhdhdhdhdhadkdldldldl Boatface and Boatinder McBoatface?

Apparently, this is a very important nautical difference, between boats and ships. Which I had the misfortune of being told once, and for some reason have never forgotten.

Or something similarly funny

The 124,000 people make sense to me, as its a chance to poke fun at people with sticks up their arses. After all Boaty McBoatface is no more ridiculous than calling the ship the Sir David Attenborough (well once you accept the fact its a ship and not a boat).
