Cricket journalist Tony Cozier has died aged 75. England's tour commentary in carribean won't be the same without him. A native of Barbados, it was surprising that he was a white guy given his accent. He will be missed.

How can you be surprised that he was white when the first settlers came from England in the early 17th century and Barbados was an early Colony with one of the oldest Parliments in the world. Getting back Cozier, his exceptional commentary will be sadly missed by all his many cricketing followers, worldwide.

Like the OP I was also surprised when I first saw him as I had also automatically assumed that he was black. A very distinctive voice that will be missed by all cricket lovers everywhere

I always thought he was taking the p1ss with that accent...... guess we'll never know now. Certainly was an entertaining commentator, and loved to party by all accounts. I'll bet many of us would trade our boring lives for just 10 of his... I would. RIP Cozy
