Available on a free, aged 35 but surely he has the quality to make a difference?
Could be just what we need in the no.10 role
One year contract?

We should try and get David Beckham, Zidane, Pele and Gazza too while we are at it.... We don't need old has beens. We are a Premier League team on the up and have just got to the FA Cup final. We are not a struggling/mid table championship team anymore.

Almost exactly what people said about Esteban Cambiasso, and look at the difference he made at Leicester. Not saying I want Rosicky, but out of hand dismissing of experienced, cultured players who have been at at the very top level is plain stupid. They obviously have something to contribute (even if only in terms of mentality and limited playing time) to a developing group like ours. You don't want a team built around has-beens, but the right one or two would be no bad thing.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

Thanks in no part to a 39 year old who scored the winning goal for us in the play off finals.

Another old duffer Zlatan Ibrahimovic doesn't seem to have any shortage of admirers at 34 with Manchester United rumoured to be preparing a bid for him and he will be close on 35 at the start of the next season

That's a bit silly now mate isn't it? All the players you're attempting to 'compare' him to have all retired and are over 40. He is an established international, has a great footballing brain and would offer us something different. I would hazard a guess that if Pardew was able to sign him for a season he would. If we don't I wouldn't mind betting that one of the teams around us (West Brom, Bournemouth, Watford etc) will sign him. A comparable player at 30 will cost us around £15-£20m and would likely come from abroad with no Premier experience. He's on a free and due to his age would almost certainly fit our wage structure.
We could do a LOT worse

Rosicky is a sick note so unfortunately a waste of time. Was always very good for Arsenal when fit but rarely was.

If we had to take a punt on an ex-Arsenal sick note I'd go for Diaby who absolutely bossed Yaya Toure a few seasons back. Unfortunately again though, there's just no sense in it if this potentially amazing player can't play more than once a season.

I would absolutely love to see a player of Rosicky's quality play for Palace. Always been one of my favourite players to watch, but I just can't see it happening with his injury record over the last 8 years.

If he could play more that 1.75 games a season he might be ok for a few, but we might as well just give the money to me as I'd play about the same amount of matches.

Why bother wasting squad places on players like this?
Mid-30's, injured all the time & will probably retire in the next couple of years.
