End key not working on laptop

For some reason the End key is not working on the laptop. Anybody know how to correct this? I've googled for solutions but no joy. Thanks.

I don't think I've ever used the END Key in my entire life. TBH I don't know what it does?

Pressing it on its own it takes the cursor to the end of the line it's on. Or you can press shift and the end key and it highlights everything on that line. You can then keep your finger on shift and press the up or down arrow to highlight a whole load of text and either copy or cut or delete. Very useful. It's an inconvenience it not working when you're used to using it.

Thanks. i would set up a new user acc, call it test, try on that one. If it doesn't del the test acc. Next would remap a different key to the end key to work out if its hardware related or not

If there's a "number Lock" key on your keyboard, try pressing that. I thinks it turns the insert,home,pageup,pagedown and end functions on and off. On my keyboard, it's called "num lock".

A while ago the mouse pad stopped working, which was an absolute nightmare. Used a mouse to find out that I had pressed something CTRL and F5 or one of the F keys near F5. Press the keys I accidentally pressed again and it was back working again.
