My prediction .... The whole thing to be a complete waste of time/money.

Blair will not face criminal charges or even much criticism as Inquiry didn't have a mandate to do so.

Story will dominate News headlines for days though.

Unfortunately I agree, though given the delay for people to respond to criticism I'd like to think there'd be some culpability.

It has done what inquiries are meant to do. Put lots of time between the event and the findings.
A whitewash with bit of token finger wagging.

I think its findings will result in the end of a number of political careers, that are effectively over now, and it'll burn Tony Blair but its too late.

It'll be damning, but stop well short of being destructive, but it will determine that in all but explicit statement, that the invasion of Iraq was illegal, and it will likely as not back the official line that there is 'insufficient evidence' available to the Inquiry to advise prosecution etc.

But it'll essentially confirm that the grounds for war were unfounded, criticise the reliance on selective intelligence, criticise the way that the services operated and the closeness to political interests yadayada yada then suggest that the decision to go to war was taken well in advance and ulimitately unfounded.

But we should have arrested and tried Blair a decade or so ago.

Both Hrolf and Jamie are right. It will point out the obvious illegalities and manoeuvres used by Blair but its all too little, too late.

They should drag him up before the Beaks at The Hague.

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

The worst that will happen is Blair will be banned from ever holding UK office. But it will pretty much open the door for war crimes cases against the UK military, due to how the ICC is set up to protect western leaders from the decisions.

Like most have said, they drag these on so that by the time the report comes out the public are passed caring.

Like with all reports, if it doesn't state what you already think you know, it will be called a cover-up or a white wash.

My prediction is that it will have cost a fortune and that the money would have been better spent on a new striker.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Who knew The Thick of It was actually a documentary?
