Hi

Im getting married next year and a friend suggested getting a suit made (its weird that you hire a suit that men will actually wear in the future & spend tonnes getting a dress that won't get worn again...)

Don't have a massive budget.

Any cheap recommendations in South London? I've found a few things on google but thought someone on here would have an idea!

Cheers

I would totally buy a suit from Charles Tyrwhitt and spend a bit of money getting it tailored (inch cuff showing on the sleeve for example).

I do agree about girls spending loads on a dress for one day which is why I'll rent and my other half will spend quite a bit on a tailored suit he can where again and again!

There used to be a bird who drank in my bar a few years back when I was drinking who was a wardrobe assistant on Law & Order. I would quite often get Armani suits which had only been worn once on set, In fact I just checked in my wardrobe & I still have a black suit jacket still in the Dry cleaners polythene.

I was skint when I got married. Went to Reiss got a whistle for £400 and had the strides tapered to a pair of jeans that fitted me blinding.
Needed a black suit for a funeral and a ball last year, got one from blue water for less than £200. Treat it like a kitchen, don't spend a lot on the carcasses (jacket)and doors(strides), go up market on the handles(tapering) ,fridge (tie)and worktops (shoes). I think.

Check out this Web site, my mate got his wedding suit from there and loved it. You can design your own suit

Don't listen to him, it's the only day in your life that you will feel like a king.

I have got suits when passing through Asia, but there is a company which is based in Hong Kong but has people who design you a suit here and then get it made in Asia.

They do tours and come to London quite often. Have a clear idea of what you want, an appointment doesn't cost anything and you can get one made for around £300 if I remember right.
