Idk what happened to papa squat on saturday, but he looked in quite a bit of discomfort after his injury!
I dont mind seeing kelly or ward playing left back, but we lose a lot of attacking threat without a true left footed left back. the youngster who came on looked good, but i doubt is ready to start a prem league match.
What im getting at, and its a question we have needed to answer for a long time is who should we sign as our second choice left back?
Gibbs - Arsenal
Enrique - Liverpool
Santon - Inter (recently failed a medical at west ham)
Who else????

There's been a bit of discussion on this in other transfer threads. I'd very much doubt that players at the back end of their careers would be happy playing a sub role for us.

A young defender as back up would be a decent signing but certainly not a priority given the flexibility of Ward and Kelly and the new faith being shown in Fryers.

Taylor at leeds is a good shout - has put in a transfer request but Monk wants to keep him. Robertson at Hull is decent too.
