I understand that Wilf, gets tackle alot. Also gets frustrated but does anyone else feel that he receives silly yellow cards. He is already on 3 yellow cards in 5 games. I feel that he will miss a crucial game because of this.

Anyone else feel the same?

He is still on a learning curve so will react far better than he does if he listens to advice that he is given.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

Possibly but the one he received at Boro probably saved us two points.

He also seems to have stopped arguing with the ref, possibly been told to due to the clampdown this season.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Learning Curve? He is not 17 any more. Has been playing long enough to know better and his petulance has increased over the last two seasons. He never used to be like it and i think its because AP lets him get away with it. I would fine him everytime he throws a strop not just when he gets a yellow. Opposition players will see Wilf react and throw a tantrum and will get at him even more so needs to concentrate on being a proffessional footballer.

Against Middlesbrough he took one for the team just outside the box and pards said it was well timed so sometimes getting a yellow card is a good thing.

yes on a learning curve as AP has said many times before he has to learn by his mistakes and act like a man and not like a schoolboy, perhaps then he might not allow players to get at him and make him react. he needs to just get on and play great football as we all know he can. he has to stop throwing his toys out of the pram and just get on with the game.

I don't think it hurts us to have a bit of 'edge' to our game. We may well need a bit of fight at certain stages this season. Wilf seems to be on excellent form at present and seems to have genuinely improved. He just needs to work on his reactions to the officials, in my opinion that is what gets him booked more than other players for similar offences.

Wilf is a player that needs rests between good spells but probably doesn't realise his body is tired and thus doesn't mention it.

Hence he plays frustrated and poorly until dropped like this season and then Pardew brought him back in midway through Bournemouth and he's looked great since.

Getting an automatic rest every 6 or 7 games due to suspension might not be the worst thing for us or Wilf.

Looking at the games so far there are usually one or two players getting yellows for running to argue with the ref of linesman. Zaha is only one of many that will have to adjust and learn to walk away.

I think he's also learning that he doesn't have to beat 3 men every time, that it's ok to pullup and put in an early cross now and then.

We have more options now, so I don't expect the kind of rotating fouling on Zaha that we saw last year, so he should find it easier to chill out more.
(and yes, that one yellow was a great defensive foul)

Some referees seem to think that because they have showed one yellow card it follows that they must then rain them down like confetti at a wedding.

Some intent should be there for a yellow card offence I feel.

Your last sentence I agree with to a point. . .

If/when Wilf gets his 5th caution of the season, he will automatically serve a 1 match ban, BUT, so early on in the season, as have already been mentioned, oppo's will attempt to wind him up even further, also, Refs will take note of his disaplinary record & act accordingly....

IMO, he needs to control himself quickly(ie petulance).

He was very good v Stoke and Boro i think we are seeing Wilf proving he is ready to play for a top six team e.g Spurs hope i am wrong and he stays.
