Can we reach Europe?

I think this is a really good team we have, the best i can remember in a long time, probably since the Coppell team of 1990-1991 that finished third in the top flight. Is Europe realistic? I still think there are a couple of positions to improve in January, another left back and possibly another forward/striker depending on how Remy comes back and whether he gets injured again or not. But we have some top players as was acknowledged by both Merson and Le Tiss on Soccer Saturday. Heady days indeed!!!

We're 3 signings away from a possible top 8 side. As most people know we need a left back and number 10 upgrade. I believe a big box to box player in the Diame mould too as we lack some power in midfield whatever the formation. That said we're 3 injuries away from a relegation candidate. If Dann, Jimmy Mac and Benteke all got crocked we'd look bang average. Football's such a fine line at top level lets just hope we keep everyone fit and add a couple of additions in Jan, then see where we are to push on! Whatever the outcome this season we're going in the right direction and there's a lot more to come from this team. With a bit of luck a top 10 finish for sure.....

If our first team stayed fit all season they we could definitely get a decent finish. But our squad is paper thin, and a couple of injuries and we will look suspect.

I honestly wouldn't want a Europa League place yet. We would need probably two equally impressive windows to then have the sort of squad that could cope with the rigours/extra injuries of a European campaign. It's a bit of a poisoned chalice- look at what happened to Fulham, Wigan and several others whose names escape me right now!

I admire your optimism, but at the moment I'm still just looking at getting to 40 points first.
Just to rein it in a bit I think you should remember that we've only beaten Stoke, Sunderland and Midlesboro and drawn with Bournemouth. Not the best teams in the league and ones we'd be hoping to get points against. This isn't a criticism, as you still have to do it.
But we'll have tougher games to see how good we've actually become.

The range of this team is pretty wide. Depending on how things break with injuries, we could easily finish anywhere between 6th and 20th.

If Benteke bangs in 25 goals then we'll obviously be there or thereabouts.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

No We're not good enough. Souare and Dann injured leaves our defence short. Fryers got an Assist against Sunderland but that doesn't make him a good player.

We only have two proper wingers in Zaha and Townsend so we could do with another.

If McArthur got injured we would struggle I think. Would only leave Cabaye and Flamini and both I don't think are as good.

We've got one decent striker in the squad! If Benteke gets injured for long then our season would be ruined.
Having him has made, I think most of us realise that Wickham is just not good enough to bang in 15+ goals.

Hopefully Remy comes back and does well! At the moment tho we need a few signings. Strongest first 11 yes. The rest of the squad no.

Stop it! Behave yourself!

Too much too soon, as well you know, or should, at any rate.

I'll take midtable. We had a very easy start to the season

As much as I'd love to see Palace on a European tour, I'd settle for mid table for the next few seasons. The club's going through a massive transitional period, what with the new stadium and all and I think the Europa League could put our league status at serious risk. Besides, I seem to remember us discussing the same topic this time last year and look how that turned out

Surely our FA Cup endeavour affected our premier league form somewhat last year, so to imagine having a collective of League cup, PL, FA Cup and Europa would spell disaster over the course of the year. best avoided till all 25 players are of first 14 quality.
