Just one quote - “Rebranding ourselves was really important with our stadium. We’re in the London Stadium. We added the word London to our crest because we felt it had real global appeal. Nobody else does it. We are in the heart of London, in the foothills of the financial sector. We have the best stadium – there are some great stadiums in this country but there is only one Olympic Stadium and it’s ours. It’s really had a dynamic impact on the things we can do.”

Just remember how sh*t they are on the pitch this year and it will make you feel better

Their new ground looks terrible. In spite of the location I'd rather be in Upton Park. The new ground looks like you need binoculars to see what's going on on the pitch - it's absolutely miles away from the stands.

You've also essentially got 20,000 people with season tickets who didn't used to go to Upton Park and don't really care very much and they've been all mixed in with their regulars who can't stand the Johnny Comelatelys. These new "fans" are already showing they can't be bothered to go unless WHU are doing well or it's a game against a so-called big club, as evidenced by around 15,000 empty seats against Boro.

I personally think it's hilarious and WHU have mismanaged the move so far pretty badly.

Expanding our current ground will mean the HF and AW don't have to move, but SP and co need to make sure they get it right so we don't end up with thousands of empty seats most weeks.

Yep. Mates who go reckon the view from 40% of the ground is awful (without binos) & getting out after the game is awful. Unlike other 'olympic stadiums' that are now home to football clubs, theirs wasn't originally built with the transformation in mind hence the seating is on a slow incline rather than the steeper ones you get elsewhere (even Wembley got that right).

There are so many season tickets owned by corporate/company/touts that a lot of the faces around them change every week. Either that or the seats are empty else it's an away fan.

It'll be interesting to see how many retain their ST's when the (silly cheap) prices they were sold at last year increase back to their normal levels.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

Not doing a lot better off the pitch either. Boro fan stabbed after the match and a bottle landed on an OAP in the Boro seats checked from the home end.

WHU refuse to pay for police saying that it up to the landlord (us taxpayers).

Can't wait to see how the Chelsea match goes.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

It really won't matter where they are if they drop down to the Championship.

Always had a bit of a soft spot for West Ham until I started going there relatively recently to watch Palace. A very whiney and unpleasant crowd especially when they're beaten. I won't be going anymore as I don't think you can toilet train apes.

Fingers crossed that we add to their woes on Saturday week.

spot on nobby , exactly what I heard from a west ham mate . half hour walk to the station , and all the regulars are scattered around different pubs .

when I was reading the article today , I thought to myself , selhurst is shabby but its ours and we love it . it will be re developed but I have faith in the owners that it wont be a corporate cnut fest like a lot of grounds

Mates of mine went to watch Saints play there, said that the players look tiny as they're so far away from the pitch and the locals spent the whole game fighting each other & the stewards.

Top branding.

Well there was, until you renamed it you f***tards.

On that note the 2018 Champions League final is going to be at the Olympic Stadium in Ukraine. When the hell did Ukraine hold an Olympics exactly?
