Yes, I'm happy with what I've seen so far this season. It's very evident with what we're trying to do in terms of the transition in playing style. On another day we could have quite easily got something out of yesterday's match and certainly should have from West Ham last week.

Our problem as always is just being that little bit more ruthless in front of goal - the chances are now being created and it is unfortunate that Remy got injured before he even kicked a ball for us. With Dann's return imminent, I expect us to tighten up at the back and start producing the odd clean sheet so am not overly concerned about that, but Left Back continues to be a problem.

I'm not a fan of players not being played in their natural position and Martin Kelly is not a Left Back. I don't think Fryers is the answer as cover for Souare, but he's a Left Back and should be given a run of games before January to see what he can do before getting a more able left footer in the window.

I think everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet now in that we're mostly happy with what we're seeing, and realise we're not going to win every game; but we've been in every game so far and I certainly think we'll win more than we lose this season and a top 10 finish is very achievable.

Liverpool will be tough next week, and right now we'd probably take a draw but no matter what happens, I think we'll give them a game, but when you come up against teams with that extra bit of quality you're not always going to get what you might deserve and Liverpool are one of those teams that have more individual quality.

Love the optimism but we have, in 111 years, only done that once in the top flight. Doing it again won't be this season.

We created more chances yesterday than the champions.

Cabaye has found his scoring boots.

reasons to be cheerful 1 2 3.

Maybe we did but we still lost 3-1 !

As for Cabaye and his "Scoring boots", maybe it is a bit premature to suggest that he is back in the groove.I think there is a consensus formed that Cabaye has not delivered what was expected of him.

Precisely and we defended like donkeys; one or two on here are suffering from premature elation.

Dont think we did. We started well but then they took control after about 20 mins. They missed two good chances that they should have scored from. Benteke/Cabaye should have scored from chances we had.
Not sure what Tomkins was doing dodging the ball for their third goal

I am not happy with the goalkeeping situation, apparently Mandanda was brought in for his organisational skills of the defence etc. From what I have seen there hasn't been much evidence of that at all. He has been routed to the ground without moving for a number of goals so far, failed to keep a clean sheet. He comes with a supposed good reputation, but he has been very ordinary.
He is not as good as Heaton, Foster and Pickford all playing for teams, who all play for teams that give them a lot of saves to make.
I thought Hennesey was doing a reasonable job, he must be disappointed to be left out.

So far I cannot see how Mandanda is an improvement on Hennessey.

We are just below the points total I would have wanted from the games we have played but considering the injuries its not a bad start. For us to win we need our players to all be 7/10 as soon as we have two below that we struggle if one key player has a bad game the top teams will make us pay. Yesterday we lost because they defended with the sort of fight we used to show that is a worry and should be addressed in January with new players.

For goodness sake, are people really suggesting Hennesey is better than Mandanda?!

Sorry but I'm still not looking any further than just making sure we stay up, which from what I've seen we'll do comfortably, we're going to get plenty of points against the usual suspects and maybe one of two bonus points against the big boys.
Some of you need to face facts, as a club this is as good as it's going to get for us, we're just not going to be capable of getting to the next level(top 8 or Europe)We may have splashed the cash this summer, but our squad in general is still weak once you get passed the first choice eleven because we had to balance it out by selling!!
So just enjoy what we've got at the moment, a team that's just about capable of a mid-table finish if the big players stay fit.
