£47.5m plus add ons. I'd take Scott Dann all day long.

How we would be in melt down on here with an error like that one!

Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it..

Ghastly.

I found Claudio Bravo's abysmal performance against Barcelona particulary funny though. Serves them right for the way they treated Joe Hart.

These plastics can't go down the toilet fast enough for me.

I think sometimes we forget that Stones is just a "Baby" at a mere 22. He has all the attributes to be a 'Huge'player in the future.

Difficult to coach those types of errors out of a player. By 22, the pattern/decision making is already set and rather difficult to change, imho.

What's the problem? I thought it was a great assist and Redmond was happy with it.

It may not be coached out of him but then big clubs pay this sort of money for a defender that doesn't hoof it into row Z and can launch an attack.

It annoys me that commentators keep going on about 'oooh this new fad with ball playing centre backs, not in my day'.

Rio Ferdinand went for an even absurder amount of money at the time and his thing was he could get it on the deck and play it.

It isn't a new thing, it's fine for clubs outside of Europe to hoof it but if you are in top 4 and know you're likely to come up against Bayern or Barca you can't afford to turnover possession.

It doesn't need to be coached out him. When his confidence is high the passes will work and not cause goals for the opposition. When his confidence is low it will cost his team goals and 99% of the time it won't matter because they'll win 4-1.

It's the benefit of playing for a big club but because City's attack are in a bit of a rut they didn't bail him out yesterday.

That's all fine but Stones makes far, far too many mistakes. Rio Ferdinand was also a really fantastic defender, the best in the world c.2002 I would say. Stones is not a fantastic defender (yet), in fact he's a very poor one.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Always looks like an accident waiting to happen to me, both for city and England. Bad decision making, doesn't know when to bring it out or hoof it - not sure that's something that can be trained...
