Second half

I thought we were excellent in the second half and were back in the game right up to their fourth goal by Firmino which killed the game off. Ok our defending in the first half was shambolic at times, but this is a really good Liverpool team as well. I still think this is one of the best Palace teams in living memory, and we have enough quality to end up fairly comfortable in mid table. I think the international break disrupted us a bit and the injuries to Dann and Puncheon have not helped

I thought the second half was much better!We were out fought by a class team that are totally different under the weirdo! When they lose the ball they work so hard to get it back and force you into rushed poor passing errors. Unfortunately we have lost our only real ball winner in the middle of the park, so most teams just stroll through us now. Townsend not starting totally baffles me and I can only imagine he has fallen out with Pardew? Lee had an excellent second half and gets subbed? When they lose the ball they work so hard to get it back and force you into rushed poor passing errors.
Unfortunately we have lost our only real ball winner in the middle of the park, so most teams just stroll through us now.
Townsend not starting totally baffles me and I can only imagine he has fallen out with Pardew?

Football confounds. Outplayed in first half, 2 goals.So much better second half 0 goals. It's good to keep an opened mind, but not so open that your brains fall out.

Second half performance is nothing to be terribly proud of, especially when we still failed to score and conceded another poor goal. Liverpool were never going to be able to match their first half, plus they didn't need to being a goal up. Our inability to even moderately cope with them when they decided to play was shocking. I can just about accept poor passing and losing the ball under pressure from some of our less able players but poor concentration from quick free-kicks, corners and horrible positioning, getting caught the wrong side of the attacker is inexcusable. Fitness and defending needs to be seriously looked at.
