.....Pape Souare had left home 5 minutes later? Mid table methinks. Time to play Townsend at left back imho.

Give over. He was playing all of the 2nd half of last season when we were toilet. Another case of a player getting better by not playing.

He would have linked up very well with Benteke methinks, and we'd be a touch more organised at the back. Mid-table? Perhaps. It would at least be more exciting than it currently is.

Agree 100%. Positionaly worst than any of the 4 that are currently playing, offers nothing to stop headers and has the organisational skills of mr bean. Watching him play defensively he spends half the game waiting for instructions from the other defenders , which he rarely gets. Decent crosser though, so there's a slight chance that we may have scored another goal or 2.
Same as Hennessy , Kai Kai etc, he apparently gets better by not playing.
2 new full backs please Steve.

He adds pace and athleticism to the back line, which what seems to be missing. He may make mistakes but often he is able to recover due to his energy. It's rare you see him looking knackered and he must get up and down the pitch more than any other player. He was also starting to improve some of the weaker aspects of his game. On the downside he always seemed reluctant to put a tackle in.

IMO he's no better then Kelly, often when faced with a winger he tracks back towards the box and lays off without putting in any challenges.

Another one of the injured player would have made a huge difference. We had in with Bolasie, Puncheon, Cabaye, Wickham etc.

Also he was injured for the 3 games we won, so what might have been if he'd played them, didn't put the cross in that fryers did at derland,
