Ok, so in the normal state of affairs, weekends are to be looked forward to. Few beers on a Friday, relaxing Saturday, maybe see the game, if not follow it on your phone or at home with Sky Sports. Might catch up with friends down the pub for Final Score. Later maybe out for dinner, and MOTD at least Sky plussed if we've had a good result. Sunday nice and relaxing with good food.

But now, I just hate them! On Friday I find myself thinking "What have I got to look forward to this weekend?" and then the impending doom is remembered. Another shocker and more "nil points" from the Palace boys.

Saturday will be unbearable.

Sunday is spent avoiding newspapers, MOTD repeats and Goals on Sunday!

But it's ok I guess. On Monday you get back to work and wait for everyone to take the p1ss out of your result!

No real point to this post but misery loves company right?! May all our weekends soon return joy!

Merry f'ing Christmas (at least enjoy the day as Boxing Day down the pub could be bad from about 12.31...!)

Now here's Wright, his first chance to see what he can do, and he's through, it's Wright, ohhhh what an impact by the substitute. And it's Ian Wright who's sent the Palace fans into ecstasy!

Take it you havent been following Palace long then?
We have probably just had our best spell ever and now going through a normal spell, ride it out and and i am sure we might win another game this season or get a point in the next few months.
Then we have the Championship to look forward to and we will probably win more than we lose so not all doom and gloom.

I agree with the OP and Mr Wrap's reply.

It has been quite sour of late, undeniably, given we haven't put up a fight when it matters. Yet, we have always been a difficult club to support - actually no, not difficult to support, but difficult to enjoy. The constant merry-go-round of absolute elation following as an immediate aftermath to ecstatic triumph makes us fans the most clinically schizophrenic of the lot.

Would you have it any other way? Not I!

So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet.

In my very young years I supported Palace in League 1 (old Division three) and for most of my late teens/ twenties in Division Two. I went for a few seasons with just 4,500 others. We were broke the club.

Chill. Times are good.

Though, strangely, it was a lot more fun back then when we were poor and sh1te and also earlier languishing in Division Three.

I've followed Palace for 38 years (now 42). I've known plenty of bad times. I was about 15 when we lost 9-0 to Liverpool and just about everyone at school supported Liverpool (of course they did!).That was tough. I'm just sharing how I feel right now. Not saying it's the worst, but at this moment it feels a bit sh1t. In the old times there was no Sky Sports so you could hide from it easier. Like I say, misery loves company, that's all I was sharing.

If your weekend solely revolves around a football result then maybe re-evaluating your life choices may help you enjoy your time off work.

Thanks for your concern. Of course it doesn't ruin my whole life (poetic license I think they call it). But I was hoping you would get the gist of the story - weekends are just a little less fun when your team is losing and a pint always tastes a little better at 4.50pm on a Saturday when your team has just grabbed a last minute winner away, e.g. Stoke last season. Now that was a great festive pint!

I don't like the weekends because we have to do all our washing then. I've told the Mrs that clean sheets are not a priority, but for some reason she doesn't believe me.

I get around 2 days off a month as I'm in a lot of debt due to wife's visa issue a couple of yes back. so I am glad just for the occasional lay in.

I'm forever working that a palace defeat has gone further down my list of cares.

bug supporter since 90 but having to watch it on kodi each week takes away the spark sadly.

As was everyone at work. Didn't care though as that was a great week all things considered - Chester Races, the Hacienda & a couple of days in Blackpool took the edge off the result at Anfield (and it was the first and only time we had a good drink & a natter with a few bin-dippers afterwards).

It was, however, the start of a sea-change at Palace & we saw the result of that through 1990 & 91.

Trying to be positive, I'm hopeful that our fortunes will change again - with or without the manager - & we really can be the team we are 'on paper'.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

I genuinely chuckled at that

Take it all to the local launderette for a service wash.
