The blame for this happening will lie squarely at the feet of the board who deemed it sensible to give him a new deal in the summer when the cracks had already started appearing. They've not done much wrong in my eyes since 2010 but that was a mistake.

Getting yourself excited about Pardew's pay off is stupid. Just how the mad world of Premier League finance is these days. Everyone's at it, the clubs get ridiculous money, the players get likewise as do the agents. Sad fact is that 5m quid isn't a big deal these days. It's the equivalent of 500k 15 years ago to a club.

Do you define "right now" as meaning "over and over again for a year" then? His results inbthe league have been f***ing s***e for so long that I've almost forgotten what a good all-round performance looks like.
