I was wondering who we have with very little time left on their contracts and it seems there are a few more than I expected;

Ledley, Hennessey, Campbell, Kelly, Flamini, Delaney, Speroni, Fryers & Appiah all seem to have 6 months(ish) left.

Whilst you might argue that there are a number of them we don't need/want going forward there are a few in there I'd prefer to keep but there's no (obvious) news of an contract talks with any of them. This leads me to speculate that perhaps the club aren't looking to renew? In which case

a) Will they be sold whilst they still have some value?

b) Who can we get to replace them (and at what cost)?

Mods: please move to Transfer Talk if appropriate.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

Can't see any being sold in Jan, none of them are good enough to have clubs fighting to get hold of them first.

Hennessey's needs to be extended as he's probably our first choice now, I think Mandanda's english is still weak so he'll take at least this season to settle in.

I'd still like to see Delaney, Speroni, Ledley and Kelly here next year, possibly Flamini too as he's impressed me in the 2 games he's started.

I dont think Sam will be rushing to re-sign any of them to be honest. Hennessey and Flamini perhaps but the rest are Championship quality

Sam said we've already got a thin squad which he wants to add to, I doubt he'll want to see many bodies walk out the door.

I'd say offer the following:

Lesley new deal 3 years
Hennessy new deal 3 years
Campbell - let go when deal expires
Kelly - let go when deal expires
Flamini, Delaney, Speroni offer one year extensions
Fryers - new 3 year deal
Appiah - let go when deal expires

I think that's a bit harsh on Ledley and Kelly.

Big Sam will wan'this own people but most of these are decent squad players

Ledley is 30 next year so I think deal for 1 year with 1 year option

Hennessy will not want to be no 2 so unless he is guaranteed No 1 will not sign. So I think he will either leave in Jan or get a new deal of 3 years

Campbell - is our 4th choice striker, can we get or afford better ? I think he will let expire and see what other clubs offer

Kelly - is an important squad player but isn't a left back. He has played at international level so unless we get a good offer he should be offered a new deal

Fryers - has not been success everyone hoped but we have no left backs. Big Sam has a style more like Sir Alex so he may prosper . time will tell. I think we will extend his contract but if we get an offer I think we may accept.

Flamini,I think will be extended

Delaney I am not sure, it depends on who we buy in the window. However he may stay on as a coach

Speroni I think it is time for him to hangup boots as a player. AP brought in his own goal keeping coach who I suspect will leave. I think Speroni will move into this position

Appiah - will go in January by mutual consent. We need squad place

I really hope Jules does get the goalkeeping coach job I really do, but first I hope he gets that one match for him to take the club record he deserves it.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

He'll get the cup game against Bolton.

Can't see any of them getting more than 1 year extension bar Hennessy (goalie depth) and Fryers (age), if anything to be honest. If they don't wish to sign up let them go. As we obtained 4 players in the summer expect at least that next summer.

Fryers has barely featured and needs to re-build his career in the Championship.

Campbell isn't good enough and on good money.

Ledley should be offered two years IMO - never let us down and great attitude. The way Pardew initially froze him out at the end of 2014-15 was a joke and another example of his bad judgement.

Appiah has barely featured.

Flamini is still on trial IMO.

Delaney should stay - one year extension.

The one goalkeeper I would keep is Speroni. Neither Hennessey or Mandanda have looked adequate replacements and Pardew's judgement of gks has been jank. Would offload these two and buy a keeper.

I don't think he has much of a choice for some of them. He doesn't have a bottomless sack of cash like some teams *cough Manure* so he is probably going to have to keep a good proportion of them. Whether you think that is a problem or not, it is kind of the reality. A small market team like Palace is going to have a chunk of what is unfortunately termed 'Championship Quality'.
I think there is useful life in a lot of the players on the list, if not starting then at least on bench as a valid sub.
I think he's probably going to keep most and sub in some starters over them. How they react to that is something we're going to have to see.
