First and Last to celebrate New Year?

Hoof Hearted 31 Dec 16 10.12am

The island nations of Kiribati and Samoa are the first countries to celebrate the new year. This is due to their position immediately west of the International Date Line, which determines the start and end of the time zone cycle. Hawaii is among the last to celebrate the new year.

Which of you is the furthest East Holer, ie the first to celebrate.... and which is the furthest West, ie the last?

I'm based in Bristol, England longitude 2.5356° W

I've got 2 friends travelling right now one based in Fiji and the other at Los Angeles.... 21 hours time difference between them!

Anyway.... whenever the New Year "arrives" enjoy yourself and be safe!

So.... from ALL the replies.... we can deduce...

PALACE FOR EVER was the first Holer to celebrate the New Year (living furthest East in London) and I was the last (living furthest West in Bristol).

Thank you all for your participation.

I'm 3°0.6048' W where I currenlty live in the Southport area, so I'm even further west than you, Hoof!
