Kelly 5 - Given rough ride by Sigurdsson. Did not get forward

Delaney 6 - Torrid return to action for Palace captain after suspension against Llorente

Tomkins 5 - Not as good as Scott Dann. Lacks physical presence at the back

Ward 6 - Got to grips with Routledge as the match wore on. Palace’s best defender

Ledley 6 - Was the sole holding midfielder in chaotic first half. Needed more help

Townsend 5 - Apart from one first-half run, just did not get in the game. Subbed off

Puncheon 5 - Failed to produce anything in crucial role behind central striker

Cabaye 5 - Played deeper in second half to protect his back four. Needs possession to play

Zaha 7 - Frustrating final appearance before stunning volley

Benteke 5 - Borderline penalty appeal after hurdling Fabianski. Subbed at break

It has to be someone on the rise and hungry and not expensive flops like Townsend, tbh any of the fringe players like chungy sako mutch are worth a place in front of Townsend imho, I hope BFS can tempt the right players to come here, benteke to China 40m ? Exactly. Said something similar on another thread. They are professionals who only play football for their living and are surrounded by other professionals in terms of coaches, physios, fitness experts and of course facilities (which I concede may not be as good as some other Premier League clubs but they are a lot better than you and I would be privy to after we played a game of football in the park). I don't know if I blame the players, because I don't know if the players have used it as an excuse (not watched any post match interviews) but anyone using it as an excuse is letting them off the hook way too much.

They must have run their hearts out against Watford then because from what i saw at the arsenal game, none of em put a shift in there either.
