Ok its quite easy to go for a knee jerk reaction tight now and i am trying to keep a calm head and analyse this from another angle...
We thought we needed a couple of players to sort this team out. Even with big Dam in charge there are serious problems and only 17 games to do it. Premiership is worth over 80m a year.
If you were the chairman, would you be thinking about blank cheques to buy what sam wants? If he said right now that he needs 50m to keep us up, would you do it or accept the fact that relegation was a genuine possiblity?
People are talking about replacing as many as 5 players and in coming round to the idea of that myself...if you ran the club would you do it???

Yes throw the money in, overpay, will make it all back at the end of the season. If the doesn't work, it would be the boards fault anyway, might as well try and show some redemption

Yup 200 mill for Ronaldo, 200 mill for Messi and a fiver on an African left back.
We'll be fine

Being willing to spend money is one thing, finding players willing to come is something else.

It's confidence, spirit, determination, organisation and leadership that are needed as much as new signings though and you can't just go out and buy those things. On paper, this is arguably the best squad the club has ever had and should never be in the position it is in. But big names and international caps count for nothing without the right kind of attitude and desire to succeed.

There are too many intangible qualities missing and the only hope the club has of staying up is if there are three others in an even worse state. I hate to say it, but even if Palace do stay up, they don't deserve to. The fans do, but the club doesn't and I seriously doubt it will.

That's not going to happen. For some reason we're hamstrung even though our net spend was very low in the summer.

Hes looked at our squad and thought yes i can do something with these players and then he met and started working with them and realised what a gutless and lily livered bunch they are. When Pulis came our players were limited but full of character and prepared to work hard. This lot are faint hearts

They're also cnuts who deserve a slap or a good kicking for being disrespectful to the badge. I don't blame Sam but I certainly blame the players who are spineless pr1cks with no character.

Spot on as a group they have absolutely nothing about them! I can live with the odd mistake, poor pass, but I can't live with lack of work rate, effort and pride.

Won't see the likes of Benteke moving so slowly when he picks his pay cheque up each month. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I'm probably in the minority here but PL football isn't the 'be all and end all' for me.
If we had more support from the local community regarding relocating (i love Selhurst but times have changed) then i'd probably be more in favour of throwing caution to the wind and going for it. But their not. So i'm not.
Do the best we can given the circumstances but the survival of our club is paramount.

that is the paradox that is the PL, we all want our teams to be there but when we are it all turns to a big pile of poo, i work shifts since going into the PL have to use a lots of favours to see a home game!
