I think Joel Ward is an absolute liability, he is a slightly above average championship player. I would slot Schlupp in as left back, and put Tomkins on the right with Dann and Delaney in the middle. Eventually we need to sign a good young centre half or two as Delaney is almost at the knackers yard, but for me Ward and Kelly should now be out in the cold. Kelly can backup Tomkins and Fryers can backup Schlupp....until more quality is signed that is.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

nowt wrong with ward IMO. solid right back, shown to us since promotion hes good enough for the PL and now is not the time to start digging him out.

get a rough time against the top teams but then would any defender we could afford/attract.

oh and BTW the player you want to replace ward with is suspect defensively and plays the other side of the pitch.

other than the above fella...you comments are spot on.

Ward is far from perfect, but just once this season I'd like to lineup with a back four of people actually playing in their natural positions.

Ward at RB and Schlupp at LB for me.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Not ready to give up on Ward yet though he needs competition for the shirt. The entire defence has had its confidence shot through and we have never been able to take him out of the firing line because our defensive cover is so lacking. Also he has been playing many of his games in the wrong position which hardly helps for a guy low on confidence.

Lets get a second RB in to compete

Tomkins is not the answer at RB

Our biggest issue for me is we are too slow at distributing the ball forward to our quick forwards. That distribution should come from the goalkeeper, fullbacks and deep lying midfielder. Tomkins makes us even slower in this respect and offers very little in advanced right wing positions,.

We need better fullbacks and someone like Kante who gets the ball forward quicker and does the simple passes quicker.

Competition for Joel Ward at RB is needed, but digging him out for below average performances at LB is unfair.. bring in someone better for him to compete with.

Tomkins isn't the fix.

I like Ward.. what he lacks in technical ability he more than makes up for with his work rate and passion.

He's decent going forward but he can't mark and lets in far too many crosses but Schlupp definitely is not the answer for left back.We need a proper left back, would love Brady but not too hopeful.

Brady is not a defender in my opinion either. Better in the midfield

So - if Jenkinson comes then Ward sits on the bench - or maybe sits in front of the back four as he has done in the past?
Sclupp - according to my Leicester mate is not so good - we have to give him time though to see what he can do before judging.
At least he is left footed - which is a help!
