Hennesey - 7
Solid performance, handling and kicking were decent.

Ward - 7
Put in a good shift on the right and worked tirelessly all evening.

Dann - 8
Quality performance from the skipper. Great finish for the goal as well. Looked like the Scott Dann of old.

Tomkins - 8
Superb display, was throwing himself into tackles and wore his heart on his sleeve.

Delaney - 8
Damo was also class this evening, marshalling the defence and leading by example.

PVA - 7
Steady debut, has plenty of pace and looks great going forward. Gives us that natural balance again.

Macca - 7
Put in a great shift and worked his socks off for the team. Unlucky with a curling effort 2nd half.

Cabaye - 7
Calm and composed on the ball and did well alongside punch

Puncheon - 7
Deployed in a deeper role and had his best game for months. Worked well with YC.

Zaha - 8
Outstanding again. Makes such a difference when he plays. Tormented the left back, time and time again. Unlucky not to score a couple.

Benteke - 8
Led the line well, first touch was class and deserved his goal.

Subs
Townsend - 8
Worked his socks off when he came on, and delivered a great cross for the goal.

Ledley - 7
Solid, no nonense display. Tightened things up in the last 15.

Flamini -
Not on long enough to mark

All in all a superb away performance, defended well and looked threatening going forward. Finally Big Sam is leaving his mark on the team. Fully deserved 3 points.

The palace rollercoaster back underway!!

Listen the lads played better today but I think they are still way off their best so 7's and 8's for that many? No chance. I'm buzzing with the result but mate I was nervous as hell the last 20 mins we sat back so deep and lucky enough Bournemouth didn't do anything with possession they had.

Hennesey - 6

Ward - 6

Dann - 8

Tomkins - 6

Delaney - 6

PVA - 6

Macca - 6

Cabaye - 6

Puncheon - 6

Zaha - 8

They didn't do anything with their possession because we contained them well and Sam's game plan worked. Thought it was a little more nervy with Ledley in there but we did well defending.

King had a free header that he should have scored and the ball fell to one of their players at the back post but it bounced off his thigh...for me that was Bournemouth wasting chances rather than being contained.

I think we deserved the 3pts though. Wilf was dangerous, they seemed to double up on him as well. Dann made the difference at the back today. His organising of the defence was key.

6 for Macca is well harsh. He was everywhere and kept things ticking brilliantly I thought.

Agreed! Jimmy put in such a shift today he was totally spent when he was subbed off... could hardly walk.

Agree with the OP's performance assessments overall.

Townsend was clearly trying hard when he came on. I'm glad he's not going back to the Geordies now. Good show!

Depends what you expect from your best centre mid I guess. For effort its a 10 but for overall play it was not.

He was totally knackered at the end I will give you that. The lads did what they needed to do to contain Bournemouth. I thought the first half we were better on the ball. Second half, after taking the lead we were generally poor in possession but I thought we were solid at the back.

It was interesting to watch Bournemouth who perhaps were having an off day, but apart from Wilshere, would a single of their team have got into our 1st 11? They played the ball about with ease, always looked comfortable in possession, but had no cutting edge...and yet not one player stood out as better than ours except for Wilshere.

Harry Redknapp on talksport said 'we looked strong and there was only one winner with Bournemouth crosses. Bournemouth ran out of ideas'

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

Pleased to see the ratings after a win! Agree with Zaha getting one of your higher ratings. Was MotM for me. Often unfairly maligned by the pundits, I thought he showed he was truly up for the fight last night and in my opinion he almost always is, just doesn't always get the chance to play his game.

Delighted and really encouraged by last night's result. 'Team Palace' very much prepped and playing with concentrated, tuned-in vigour. The team will need the same degree of application for Saturday's game vs. Sunderland who pulled off commendable defensive display against Spurs last night.

My one nagging concern is the number of needless yellow cards being picked up by CPFC players.
