So, maybe not the destructive, anti-christ of a man some of you made out our ex-manager to be after all.

Well, Wilf appreciated him anyway. 6 wins only was bad but we were never out-played and scored plenty of goals.

Yes, but it's that massive non winning streak that has destroyed the confidence of this squad. What happened at Newcastle is happening here, AP didn't take them down, but Carver inherited a team that had forgotten how to win and we're mentally destroyed.
Under AP we were in practically every game we played and played some good stuff, but if you keep losing especially the unjust ones it destroys your spirit. AP has always been a players coach, but being one of the lads eventually costs you focus and discipline and without a hard nosed coach to keep you in check your game goes to s***. If he wants to be any kind of success he has to bring in a regular no.2 that is like Pulis, then his way might work longer term. It's too late for us though.

And the bold bit is all that matters. Football is a results business. Scoring goals is great but it means f*** all if you score 4 and the other team score 5.

We were outplayed plenty of times under Pardew.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

And here is Wilf again: [Link]

'I feel like [Allardyce] brought more structure to the team. We all know what we're doing now, more.'

I don't think Pardew is the anti-Christ, but I do think the club was all over the place under him. Completely failed to drill the team, or keep it fit.

Sorry how do you work that one out? They were 10th in the table with 27 points?

come on, we were always going to be relegated under pardew, the points per game was just as horrific as they are now. fair enough we wasnt out played and only lost by the odd goal. But at the end of the day, a loss is a loss and is zero 3 points........

maybe if pardew wasnt in a position to be axed, we wouldnt be in this mess

The problem was he didn't treat anyone else the same - think 'teacher's pet' at school.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

I kept saying at least we were competitive under Pardew and a change could make things a lot worse, no one out classed us,we were just leaking goals, but now we're a shambles all over the pitch and by far the worst team in the division.
The change of manager worked twice for us since we got promoted, this time it's back fired big time!! Far too many players are just not doing it for fat Sam which says it all about what they thought about Pardew!!
Under Pardew we still had a chance, now we're doomed!!

It seems to me that the biggest problem Sam has inherited is that Pardew ensured that the team is devoid of leaders. I am hopeful that Milivojevic will be able to take control, which is something Scott Dann has demonstrated that he is simply not up to. Pardew's biggest sin was easing Jedinak out of the club with nobody to replace his leadership skills. Conceding so many goals in the final 5 minutes of each half has got to come to lack of physical and mental fitness. Getting fit won't happen overnight. Whether we have enough time to recover remains to be seen. Bournemouth was a huge plus, Sunderland was a much bigger setback. We will be relegated because we have gifted points to fellow relegation contenders, not because we lost to the top 6 sides.

Well 'yes' actually. Those last eleven games before he got sacked are four wins 3 draws and seven losses. That's 15pts from 14 games which is not relelegation form.

What the fvck have we done????

Who were those 4 wins against?
Including one of the worst Southampton sides you'll see.
