Hey all, I felt like I needed to write something especially after the last few weeks, to offer some analysis on the issues at Palace. I have broken it down into indvidual topics. So here goes.

Fans - We have the best fans in the business bar none. Players and rivals alike agree and were famous the world over. However that doesnt mean our team deserves to win games.

I want our team to be the best they can be. Wishful as it maybe I want us in the premier league and challenging for silverware, I am sure most of us do. So why moan about us trying to extend our fan base or overseas investment. To achieve the best we can we need these things. Embrace the change and be optimistic. Hard as that is.

Team - OK doesn't take a genius their not performing well enough. We have a right to complain about this but after the whistle. In our stadium our boys are warriors and we need to make them feel so. This is hard especially when we are poor but that is the responsibility of a fan.

We have improved. Im not one for saying of only this or that, but we have been close to winning and drawing games only to be undone. Putting pressure on the team booing and levelling abuse is not going to fix this just make it worse. Individuals have not been good enough Ward, Hennessy are singled out for this constantly. This will not make them better. The new signings will bolster the squad and allow a different morale but this takes time to make a difference. Back the team thats who we have and we need them to perform.

Manager - Pardew should have been gone after last season. The FA cup run saved him and his relationship with Parish ensured he was around longer. Now we have Allardyce who has made changes in back room staff which feel positive. Yet already some of our fans are calling for him to go. It's crazy. I take the dodginess he has been involved in but how can you deny he is a brilliant manager. He needs time you can't undo damage over night and make no mistake Palace are damaged. Get behind the man and believe in him because what is the alternative. Who gambles at the stage and situation were in? This man knows what he is doing he has already identified weaknesses and I dont think he is afraid of the fight.

League - We are not the only awful team out there. We are better than many. Those around us are all in a bad position and will be worried about us as well. We need as fans to make sure they know that and keep them worried. We are as of writing two points away from 15th I believe. We can also beat good teams when we are confident and organised.

Owners - Get off them too. With hindsight we all make the right decisions. They have put money forward invested in good players, broke records. What more can they do. Compared to our previous oweners at different times they are god sends. So lets start being rational and have some perspective.

Agree with this except for the "we have improved" bit as we clearly havent.
We must get behind the team from now on even if things dont go our way.

At the risk of being pedantic, we are 5 points off 15th.

Please don't confuse your personal opinion with "perspective" as they are not the same thing.

If you honestly think that we have the best fans in the business that are famous the world over then you are living in cloud cuckoo land.

Surely all players will claim that their fans are the best and ours are often rated as amongst the loudest in England but I would guess that Crystal Palace are amongst the least known Premiership clubs outside of our own country.

Would the best fans in the world boo their own players off the pitch. Would they hold up banners complaining about the manager. Would they hold a banner dedicated to a goalkeeper and claiming how wonderful he is when he isn't actually playing but someone else is who has a fragile state of self belief.

Would these supposed best fans in the world continually post on internet forums how player X isn't fit to wear the shirt.

"We are not the only awful team out there. We are better than many" The statistics might show that statement to be incorrect too. I don't know the actual figures but I'm sure I heard one of the commentators say recently that we had only one five out of the last forty seven games which is absolutely dreadful.

I am still hoping that we will escape relegation but if we do it will be because like Swansea and Leicester which you claim are better than their results, so are we and hopefully we will start to play as we know we can - starting with the next game

Good Post Midlands Eagle. Sick of hearing how great our fans are and that we are the best when we are far from it. People who say that probably dont go to our games.

I am from China and I am currently managing the CPFC's official Weibo(the Chinese version of twitter) account. To be honest, there are few CPFC fans in China, even less than Aston Villa I would say. Do you guys have any advice? How can I do a better job?

A Chinese fan that is starting to support CPFC, please feel free to send me a message.

Presumably the language used is Chinese so there are a limited if any members of HOL who could read your output. Fell free to put a link here so at least we can view the format

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I have struggled to read all the negative stuff on here as it makes me feel worse and that is not helpful for a hurting fan, so thank you for the 'perspective'. I agree with most of it and the tone of it, I do however think whilst we fans have been great at times over recent years and have probably made a significant difference to the performances at times, we are failing in the main right now which does compound our player's problems especially at home. It is all pretty hard at the moment being a Palace supporter however I will always want to give our players support even when they get it wrong....we may have to brush ourselves down and say goodbye to many of them if we go down and I suspect if this happens there will be many a reminiscence in the future about the quality of the team we have right now, and perish the thought that we lose Parish et al. Hmm how easy it is to disappear into the grim future. I am hoping Allardyce has the guile to pull us out of the mess Pardew lead us into, lovely to have expansive football but you need top top defenders and midfielders if you are going to do that in the Prem.
