From the presser, Sam confirmed that puncheon will lead us out against wba. I thought a new captain was needed. My personal choice would of been macca. The captaincy seem to affect dann performances. Is this the right decision?

Sam Allardyce is an experienced football club manager who knows the players far better than you or I so in the circumstances I'm happy to go along with his decision.

Macca by the looks of it isn't going to be a starter and very rarely finishes matches anyway.

There's been a lot of criticism of puncheon, he hasn't scored since may but we certainly need a change that for sure. He was improved against boro. Maybe he needs a goal for his confidence

I don't really care who's captain, what's stranger is how he seems to be infront of mcarthur for a starting place.Thought he done well last week but let's be honest he's not on the same level as mcarthur.

Dont care who starts if result is right.JMac always needed for when Cabaye gets the inevitable yellow and presents much more of a goal threat tbh

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Yes. He's not a traditional captain in the sense that he play further upfield and doesn't flatten opponents with a tackle and he was a bit immature in his younger years. But he's the best talker we have, knows all the tricks of the trade. He's perhaps not the ideal candidate like Jedinak was but he's got more about him than Dann. Slightly confused at all the people calling for McArthur because he doesn't talk a great deal.

When was the last time we had "one of our own" as captain?

Punch is keeping the captaincy! He relished the opportunity last week, motivated the players, spoke to the ref and players when required, organised situations, planning and play around him as well. Did a quality job.

Much better captaincy traits than Dann who obviously doesn't really like it is far to quiet and best left to get on with his own game.

Looks like SA might play the same team as last week but might he put Sako on the bench and bring him on for his physicality in the second half.

It's Sams decision, plus we only win if Punch plays, and we need Cabaye off the pitch before 90 minutes is up.

Jimmy Mac, whilst a consistent player for us, is far too meek to be a captain for the team.
