What a fella! Our best chairman ever. Built the club up on and off the pitch and didn't have squilions of tv money to do it either. Take note Mr Parish.

Those were the days when chairmen and directors were 100% unpaid.

For many a year the 4 directors were Waite,Shrager, Dunster and Ercolani.

Let's not forget we're also very lucky to have Parish. He kept the faith with Pards for a little to long but apart from that we have been blessed with a fantastic chairman that is steering the Palace in a good direction.

It is Wait now Waite by the way.
He and Parish - such different eras but both bloody brilliant in what they did/do for the Club.
Wait - took us into Div One for the first time ever and so set the standard for what went after and what we aspire to today.
Sadly he sold to Bloye which saw a downward spiral until Noades took over.
He was followed by Goldberg and Jordan and now CPFC 2010.
Wait and CPFC 2010 the best by far in my memory - older supporters might know more of what went before Arthur Wait of course.
Parish really cares and that will always work in the Club's favour - Arthur Wait was the same - he loved the place.
Good men!

Arthur Wait met with friends in a London hotel with the aim of buying Crystal Palace football club and seeing whether he could create something bigger. The club really hadn't progressed since its inception and major move to Selhurst Park, and that air of a small, friendly affair exists even today.
His best feature, in my opinion was judgement of character, and the appointment of Bert Head was a fine example. No great track record, our Bert, but also a good judge of men. When asked what he thought of footballers swearing he said it didn't bother him, but reflected the character of the man and his self-control.
Palace players of his era were well controlled, loyal and hard working. When asked about the leaving of the prodigious Johnny Byrne, there's no rancour, just cool measured replies. He understood Byrne's position and said, unfortunately he wouldn't be back for a long time. He did return for a while.
And then there was the building of the ground, many of us students were there helping.....a great man Wait

Parish takes that accolade by a long chalk.

Neither did Parish and the rest of 2010 when they saved the club and got promoted.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.
