We have already started talking about who we'd like to see come to Selhurst, I'd be interested to hear what the ideal squad shape would look like. Not sure what backing we'll get from the under 21s but guess they're a bonus and needed to boost the strikeforce.

I would suggest for 25
Keepers x3
RB x2
LB x2
CB x4
CDM x2
CM x3
CAM x2
LW/LM x2
RW/RM x2
ST/CF x3

We've got Hennessey, Ledley, Kelly, Campbell, Fryers, Flamini, Delaney and Speroni out of contract. As sad as it might be with the likes of Jules and DD, I reckon Kelly and Hennessey are the only two worth retaining on that list.

For me, with the possible exception of Sakho, this summer isn't really about signing big name, expensive first team players but rather trying to keep our best players and build ourselves a more rounded squad.

Mandanda will no doubt leave the club. Hennessy, Kelly and speroni retained. Maybes- Delaney, Ledley

We must consider CDM and CAM as different to CM.

We need cover for Luka, I did see an interesting article on Boateng in one of the Sunday rags. Maybe he could adapt to being more defensive and provide cover.

Other under 21 players
Perntreou should come through to the 3rd keeper position. We will lose Steeeeeve no doubt so need to sign a keeper.

Kaikai obviously on the right wing.

Anderson should replace Appiah who has been dropped from the squad.

Croll has been successful at Exeter so should also provide cover and Prem experience.

I guess Dreher is pretty useful and it will be interesting to see him on summer tour.

Martin Kelly is not out of contract he signed a 2 year extension prior to Pardew leaving the club at the end of 2016. He was originally contracted for 3 years in August 2014.

Agree with Parrot, We have a chance over the summer to test some of the prospects. Only Kaikai I feel is ready for a chance in the prem. and even then I know that's not a popular opinion.
Mix the youngsters with introducing a few new faces and we'll have a squad with sufficient experience, skill, passion and youth to go and push on next year.

I must have missed that. Good news anyway as he's well worth a place in the squad.

I think we need to look at the player ages and give them a chance when they hit 21 as that's the limit before they have to be in the 25.

We have a couple of youngsters that bigger clubs seem to want, namely Kian Flanagan and Francis Baptiste who may break through.
