Season coming to an and end and focus starting to switch to which teams may go down and which ones are coming up ..

So for next season if we are in the prem which away grounds are worth it and which are best avoided. So far I have only done stamford bridge and Olympic park. Can't really call it away can you.

I would like to do 3 or 4 next season. Liverpool being one as I didn't get to anfield last week in the end. Heard from others that Newcastle is a good away day / weekend away.

Where else do people recommend. Where is your idea of hell? Reasons x

I guess it's all subjective but I like:
Liverpool
Everton
Citeh
Manu
WBA
Newcastle (def. overnight - it's the Ibiza of the north)
Stoke
Chelsea

Dislike:

Watford
Leicester
Southampton
Sunderland (hopefully not relevant!)
Boro (as above)
Swansea (as above)
Spurs ( will make an exception for a day out at Wembley)
Arsenal
West Ham

Brighton- as already mentioned, this is a must if you can but not really family friendly.

Never been to Burnley or Hull.

Watch for good offers on the official coaches - it can make it a long day but it can be way, way cheaper than the train.

Arsenal soulless. Liverpool disappointing, I went to Anfield a lot in the late 70s early 80s and the modern Anfield is a place shadow.

Stoke is always cold, Burnley is ok, a proper ground but god it's a long way away.

the dignified don't even enter in the game

Wembley has zero appeal unless we get to another cup final there. Fulham if promoted might be a boat trip contender I guess. Bournemouth away at the right time of year would be another excellent weekender. I love Bournemouth in the sunshine

Always enjoy Watford and Everton away. I can't stand Arsenal, just feel gloomy from the moment I leave home. The whole place, fans and atmosphere suck the life out of you.

If we stay up,next season clearly will look forward to Brighton. Would love it to be boxing day but somehow doubt it. If not would like it to be near the end of the season when we can go down there and be the team to send them back down again...

Some people are like Slinkies … not really good for anything, but you can’t help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Forgot about Bournemouth! The timing makes a huge difference with that one. As you say, nice day & it's great but a cold, wet Tuesday evening is miserable as hell.

Do
Newcastle
Man Utd
Man city
Southampton (biased family connection)

Don't
Watford
Spurs (both involve long walks )

I don't go as away so often these days but went regularly in the 70/80s and had 80 odd different grounds under my belt due to our ups and downs .
Grimsby on a Tuesday night was definitely one to avoid but would say my favourite away ground was Cold blow lane , I know ,I know, I just loved the toxicity

And we still need a striker

Last time we played Fulham i think there was at least 4 or 5 boats full of Palace fans. Boats docked at Putney right outside a pub was a great day out.Doesnt quite work with Chelsea though as you have to get a tube or take a very long walk after that.

Best

Brighton – assuming we stay up, the best away day. The ground is a pain in the arse to get to, it’s soulless and full of divs but when it’s packed on Derby day and we’re winning … not many other places I’d rather be!
Watford – feels like an old fashioned away game. Odd little stadium and a hike from the station through the town centre … perfect Saturday football vibe!
Everton – nice going to a ground steeped in history & character
Man Utd – another ground with a lot of history and one you have to do
Fulham (assuming they come up) – charming old ground the Cottage and nice walk through the park before / after

Worse

Arsenal – is there a more dull / sanitised stadium in the world?! I doubt it. Soulless and everything that is bad about modern day football
Bournemouth – just odd and expected to like it more than I did
Sunderland – thankfully they’re down now but soulless and f*cken miles away

Just know Brighton is going to be a freezing Wednesday night in the depths of midwinter. Just know it
