18/1 skybet cpfc to be relegated a cheeky £50 would pay for a little holiday and maybe enough lager to forget for a day or two.We all know the eagle scenario will be perform sh**e against hull and turn over United that's palace

So based on what you have just written you will be £50 down .

Seen a similar thread last week.

Want my opinion ..

Anyone backing palace to be relegated regardless of the monetary return needs a smack in the kisser

When I was a young girl my Mother said to me.. You listen here kid you're CPFC

Where's the harm? The bet does no damage to CPFC, does not have any bearing on the games and would be a great consolation in the event of the unthinkable happening. Why be self-righteous about it?

I have started something here I think. But I am prepared to stand my ground with my belief on this. How in God's name can you stand there with everyone around you being a mixture of pissed off , upset, angry, throw in a couple of kids in tears , boos, jeers and all the assortment of emotions some of which you would be feeling yourself no doubt, but in the back of you mind be thinking well its ok because I have just picked up £950. It's just (to me) so wrong. Such a conflict.

It's like betting on when a family member is going to snuff it. Sad they've gone, but glad you've cleaned up at the bookies. I just find it weird.

I like a bet by the way, never bet against my own team though.

I like a bet and saw those odds but in this instance cannot bring myself to bet on us getting relegated.
We are 14/1 on Paddy Power at the moment but I just can't do it!

On the basis I lose every single bet I ever put money on, I think I will be taking that bet. No way will we go down then!

Before the Burnley game, SKYBET had us at 150/1 to go down. I signed up and got £10 free credit. Guess what I put it on? Bite me!

I'll be at Hull cheering us on by the way. I want to be able to celebrate at full time with the club not thinking about money I could get if Hull somehow beat Spurs. That's the truth, but I'm trying to play the bookies at their game, not jinx Palace.

I ain't got nuthin' funny to say. Sorry.

I've been supporting Palace for over 30 years and I'll be there on Sunday and I've had a similar bet.
I do not want to win £1000! But if I do I will put it towards a holiday to get over the pain of relegation - I won't be celebrating!
Comparing relegation to losing a family member - really thats quite worrying!

There is no conflict at all. We all desperately and with all our being want Palace to stay in the Loadsadosh. Every genuine fan will be desolated if we go down. But the £850 I will receive if it does happen will in a very, very small way soften the horrible blow and I will be at Hull and Old Trafford games.

Incidentally I don't normally bet on family members snuffing it (ludicrous comparison) and anyone wishing to smack me in the kisser would be ill-advised. Even at my advanced age, as a former Merchant Marine boxing team champion, retribution would be swift and painful. :-) (this is meant to be a smiley!)
