Hardly prolific is it? I'd say the US Army would be worse. I saw a programme recently where their whole sections of the Military are run by the Bloods, Crips Etc... Especially worrying if some of those Muslim extremists are let loose.

Sounds bad, until one realizes that at any one time there are about 50-60000 people on Fort Hood. That does not include retirees who frequently live on or nearby. Fort Lewis has about three times the population which means its 130 identified gang members since 2005 is still minute given the enormous number of people who move through these bases. Don't get me wrong, it is extremely worrying that groups like this have managed to infiltrate even a few people into the armed services. You might want to check the numbers mentioned in the article. Nearly 40 gang members have been identified at Fort Hood since 2003. Sounds bad, until one realizes that at any one time there are about 50-60000 people on Fort Hood. That does not include retirees who frequently live on or nearby.

Fort Lewis has about three times the population which means its 130 identified gang members since 2005 is still minute given the enormous number of people who move through these bases.

Don't get me wrong, it is extremely worrying that groups like this have managed to infiltrate even a few people into the armed services. However, your emphasis on those groups seems to be more to do with your attempt to ignore things like this:

To me, those things far more worrying. Both in terms of the huge number who do not share our basic values about individual freedoms such as sexuality, or regarding the role of women.
