How many examples are there of teams hiring a manager from The Championship team and succeeding ?

"Brighton are talking about how they're coming for us. And it's like, we've been waiting in the Premier League for you for ages." Wilfried Zaha, 2017.

Can't think of it happening. But it's no different to hiring someone who is from another league such as the Spanish or German.

Because Conte (to name but one) clearly struggled with the step up

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

Before you try and make someone look stupid with your sarcasm try reading the quote properly to make sure that it isn't yourself left with egg on his face

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I think with the money and therefore the quality now available to Championship clubs it's more likely that suitable managers will be available from there; we've seen mentioned Wagner, Jokanovic, Wilder, Carvalhal and we can add to those Hughton and Rowett. And Benitez did not turn his nose up at the idea of staying wiht Newcastle. Probably the day is coming when Premiership teams take a punt on one of these with the idea that they can come back to the market in time to avoid the drop if things go pear-shaped.

On the other hand Monk would bottle it in the Premiership, and few managers in history have been more f***ing s***e than Zola, whose bosses thought he would be the bollocks.

Birmingham wanted to go in a 'New direction'.
They went from 8th to 20th under Zola's watch.

You reminded me Willo on the other thread that I should have had Jaap Stam on that list too.
