Surely now all us white British folk should be vilified? Don't we all share the same ideology? Are we not all part of the problem? If Muslims now refuse to condemn our entire way of life they are also "terrorist sympathisers" now aren't they? I've seen some pretty pathetic responses from the Tommy Robinsons of this world already on Twitter. Stuff along the lines of, "don't worry, light a candle #prayforfinsburypark, problem solved" etc. Ok then Tommy what should they be doing instead pal? Fighting back? Screaming "WAKE UP!" and banging on about "political correctness"?? I've even seen some go as far as making a distinction between hate crime and terrorism. The guy drove a rented van into a group of Muslims outside a mosque, there a few details so far but this has clearly come from a place of completely perverse political ideology. When hate turns into violence against civilians to appease a political aim, it is the very definition of terrorism. This man should be placed into the same bracket as any Islamist terrorist and the response I've seen so far from the far right is really starting to expose just how hollow their ignorance is.

How is it political? It's a hate crime, born from anger, resentment and revenge... the bloke isn't very smart and fighting fire with fire will never work. It's a revenge attack. what will be interesting is how the media cover it, how political leaders handle it and what the community say.

This is quite clearly born from ideology that all Muslims are the enemy, regardless of whether they actually pose a threat or are a part of the "peaceful majority" so many claim not to really have a problem with (even though, deep down they quite clearly do). It's 100% a terrorist attack and I find it quite stunning that people are trying to spin it off as something different.

Mainstream Islam does need to change. The loudest voices on that are from reformist Muslims. So you focusing on Tommy Robinson says a lot. However saying something needs to change is a million miles away from endorsing extremism. Any suggestion otherwise would be outrageous. We need to wait for details but if this is a response attack then I am truly worried for this summer. The security services must get more money to identify these people. If we are talking lone wolfs then I'm not sure what can be done.

It's a terrorist attack but then it's hardly surprising. This country creeps ever closer to riots and all out brawls in the street. Guess this attack is part of living in a big city...

I feel bad because I've heard people in my community (I'm white British) spout s*** about muslims and haven't reported them to the authorities. I'm part of the problem. I'm genuinely appalled that people think I share this bloke's warped ideology though. Waiting for the Daily Mail to hammer white folk tomorrow on their front page. I'm not looking forward to it.

We should send all white mainstream Christian British back to where their great great great grandfathers came from unless they reform, reform and reform again. They are part of the problem of people like this van driver terrorist last night and Anders Breivik. I mean, have you read parts of the bible? Horrific. How they can play bowls with that going on in their heads just shows how dangerous they could be.

Very well said. The blame game and anger is starting already. People on tv from finsbury park mosque asking why police took so long to attend. Politicians wrapping themselves in knots over what to call it. Lone wolf, terrorist, revenge attack, hate attack. No doubt some low iq simpleton Sat there twisted full of hate. Not even very original is it. Well he's got a full life stretch in prison to look forward to . Such a hard man driving into people leaving a place of worship. If your so hard and don't like Islamic terrorism how about you join the army and go and fight isis.. The actual bad guys... I get that people are angry about the attacks before, none of it is right but it's creating more and more divide where everyone has to explain and make clear they aren't a terrorist sympathizer / racist almost daily .
