Hi guys, I'm looking to bring my two children to their first Palace match, I've decided to bring them to the Schalke friendly. Unfortunately I haven't been to Selhurst to watch a game in over 15 years, considering it's a friendly and likely not to be a sell out, where would be the best area/recommendations to buy our tickets, for a decent view and atmosphere? I want them to enjoy their first live game.

Thanks in advance.

Similar age to my two eldest. I have sat in all stands except for the Whitehorse stand but I believe that is family friendly. Everyone sits, not too many stairs for all the up and down to the toilet to get food etc. In the main families and older people .

The Arthur gives good views if you can sit about halfway down and in line with the halfway line. People sit for the majoriry of the game here . However the facilities in the stand are less than desirable. It gets very congested upstairs at the food and drink kiosks and toilets. Can be a real crush especially keeping hold of two children there.

Holmesdale is a fantastic atmosphere. Blocks a -d see most people standing which can cause issues with the 7 year old seeing anything even when stood on a seat unless you can right to the front row.

Main stand don't go right to the back as the view is restricted by the roof of the stand. The width of seats and legroom isn't brilliant (depends on how tall you are) you would want to be halfway down or near the front so the younger child can see or you could find yourself having to sit with them on your lap.

Just to add I don't know whether all stands will be open for the friendly. I have been to cup games in the early rounds where r he Arthur is closed and the Whitehorse stand is allocated to away fans so you may need to ask about this.
Hope this helps x

The Whitehorse is reasonably family friendly but you do get a little bit of non-agressive effing and jeffing in a league game (probably not in a friendly). From there you can barely hear the chanting from the Holmesdale though. Sometimes they have a little sing song of their own but it's a bit far away to feel joined up with the AW or the Holmesdale.

I only mentioned this because you said about atmosphere. I like the Whitehorse, but don't expect it to be the full on "Palace experience", especially in a friendly.

Thank you, I wanna try to give them as close to the full Palace experience as possible :-)
