Does anyone know if the club sought the views of supporters (by which I probably mean registered members and/or season ticket holders) on the new kits?

I seem to recall this being done once a few years ago, but saw nothing of it this time around.

Personally, I think the home kit this year is OK (just about) and the away one is awful. I might be in the minority on that, but if fans were never asked then we'll never know.

Think that all stopped when they handed the job over to Macron to deal with.

Well after Steve rang me from Ibiza to ask if I was happy with him giving Frank the job,the conversation turned to the new kit.
I said Red & Blue but maybe it should be Claret & Blue for the home kit.
And I asked for all White with the Red & Blue sash, for the Away kit.
Because you clearly see the white at an evening game.
Alas he chose Black.

Unless looking at a complete change e.g. changing the home it to all white then I don't think that they should.

the dignified don't even enter in the game

I managed the club shop at Selhurst at the time of the vote for kits and Dominic Jordan had the 2 shirts hung up in his office weeks before the vote closed so even when fans thought they chose the kits they didn't!

Yeah I remember there being some grumbling at the time that it was all a bit of a farce!

I can see why the club can't do everything by referendum, but something like the design and colour of the kit is quite fundamental. Surely the number of sales of replica kit is affected by whether fans like it or not, and if all you have to do is ask, then why wouldn't you?

Unless there is a drastic departure from red and blue, I'm happy to leave it between the club and manufacturers.

The shirts look good although the sponsors logo looks awful. If you want to see bad shirts look at our south coat neighbours, who the Daily Mail rated -3/10 (ours was 6/10).

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Actually thought the away kit looks great, as did last seasons. IMHO who ever is picking the away kits is getting it spot on.

The away kit is crap, black is for refs and I'd never buy a top that's black for casual wear.

That Steve bloke knows nothing about football , does he run a 'local' close to where a regular poster on HOL lives?

Disagree PF, refs wear green these days sometimes yellow. Can recall the first time we were promoted and we bought out a Black away kit but were unable to wear it as it clashed with refs. I like both the home and away kit but would never buy either as i dont play football and fat blokes in football shirts look like tossers.
