Just cancelled his contract at Galatasaray, likely that he will go to the MLS or back to Holland but you never know if De Boer might be able to convince him, he must have to come into the thinking now. I would try and get him over Van Persie.

I think he'd be a good signing and it doesn't seem that far fetched if he's mates with FDB. Definitely worth an enquiry. If he's willing to play in Turkey I also can't see him turning his nose up at Palace. Just depends whether he wants to play in a proper league he's not played in before or go and top his pension fund (which must be infinite to all intents and purposes) in the US or China.

My main concern would be whether he's still up to it physically. If we can get a year of top level play out of him then yeah, let's go for it. What we don't need is another Flamini or Adebayor burning a hole in the wallet.

A few years ago I saw Sneijder "In the flesh" as it were in the days when he was in the same Galatasaray side as Drogba, and was surprised at how short he was.

He was under contract and wouldn't buy himself out of contract to play for Palace. I think he'll be heading to MLS or china.
