Oddly revolutionary film maker. If he'd done the same thing outside of genre movies he'd be regarded as one of the greatest directors of all time.

He was ground breaking by being the first person to cast a Black actor (Duane Jones) as a lead in a mainstream Horror movie and in a lead roll that did not specify the actor had to be Black.

Great performances with Bowie in Man Who Fell To Earth and as Judas Iscariot in Nicholas Ray's King of Kings. I seem to remember him in a Hitchcock as a henchman for James Mason. North By Northwest I think. Oops wrong dead thread. Edited by Slimey Toad (17 Jul 2017 1.41pm)
