For as much as people may be worried and anxious that 343 might undo Sam's good work and take us back to Pardew days of 'transitioning'

Football has clearly just taken another leap foward in mind boggling transfer fee madness. Teenagers on the verge of nearly £200m pound moves after one season.

It's crazy for that I'm sure we'd all agree.

That's why I'm so chuffed about FdB and his proven track record of looking at a club in a holistic nature. Wanting to create a pathway for players to succeed from within.

I feel we're now on the verge / turning point.

It's early days, but if it works out then we could start to develop our own talent and that's really the best way the club will become sustainable within this extortionate market place.

For me that's far more important than this seasons league place. (Granted I don't want us relagted) But the point being I see us supercharging youth development and that is just fantastic.

Who's to say we can't be the next Spurs, building from within. Yes FdB is obviously trying to strengthen the first XI and why wouldn't he. But to me it's clear as night and day how transformational his appointment could be.

For sure it might not work out, but I bloody hope it does.

Que be sacked by Nov it's the palace way. It's to early to judge if his building the next Spurs as you put it. Yes, frank got a credible reputation by football a results business. I remember when pardew started off so well, I remember saying he'd be here for at least 4+ years but look how that turned. Let's just enjoy the palace roolcoaster we signed up for. Coyp

To say he's got a 'proven track record' for anything is a stretch. I'm very excited and optimistic about De Boer, but it might not work out - and if it does, we might well lose him to a bigger club in a couple of years before the project is complete.

4 successive titles with Ajax?

(But I am with you in approaching this season with cautious optimism... not all managers can make the transition. Plus this is Palace after all...)
