We should keep him if we can. Even at 31 if he looks after himself we should be able to get another two years out of him. If he can't be convinced to stay I hope we get a decent fee for him, and I wish him all the best. Will never forget his goal against arsenal, what a corker, was about 20 yards away.

he's worth way more to us than what we'd get for him. it makes no sense unless he's forcing a move, which he's done in the past. but that was for PSG. YC has nothing more to play for except money. france won't be taking him to russia. no champions league team is buying him. he'll go only if they increase his wages, which we should be able ot match whatever they're going to offer.

I sincerely hope it isn't going. He is only 31 for gods sake and an experienced international who has plenty still to offer, especially to the younger players. Why sell him??

Cabaye had a slight knock prior to the Hong Kong trip - may just have not been worth the risk playing him against Metz. There again playing a back 3 means all 4 midfielders have to be good athletes.

Anyone know the official reason why he wasn't part of the Metz match? Injury or knock? Or did the club not say.? I'll be surprised if anyone offers us any decent money for him as he only has a year left. Unless Parish has a gentlemans agreement with him to let him go I'd say we should keep him for the final year. Of course if someone coffs up a decent fee proposal then that's different I just can't see anyone doing that. Only other reason we should consider him leaving is if his wages are so vast it'll help with FFP. Still think we should get the final year out of him tho. Edited by Goldfiinger (31 Jul 2017 11.15pm)

Further rumours Cabaye is set to leave. I'm starting to believe this.. maybe it's in part to reduce the wage bill as we look to sign other players. That and knowing he'll go next year on a free. Most likely also respecting his wishes after him being a fantastic player for the club. I've heard no mention from the club as to his lack of appearance so only adds to the thought he preparing to leave.

I don't get all those comments about haw stupid we would be to sell him. True enough if he wants to stay. But if the player wants to leave, what would be stupid is to try to force him to stay.

WHY? there is nothing to say he's leaving or that we want to sell him all day it been mad on the BBS about this with no grounds to it. the photo show him at the training ground not anywhere else.

And then Mandanda sending three winks and him sending one back? Plus Dominic Fefield reporting we're looking to off load players to cut the wage bill. No mention from anyone at Palace why he wasn't at the Metz game. So there's a few reasons why people are talking about it...
