Must say this doesn't excite me, anyone any knowledge of this guy? Says he tanked at Newcastle but has done slightly better since joining PSV. 'Apparently' Frank wants him..?

Just had a look at his Wiki. After returning fromhis flop season at Newcastle he did have two prolific seasons at PSV, then tailed off last year. He is still only 26. Might make a decent low cost option, and knows how to play 3-4-3. He could be a squad player and come in if Benteke gets injured.

We need some cover and at 26 without too many injury problems it isn't a bad shout. He will know the system and Frank can get the best out of him. Right now I'd re-sign Frazier Campbell because we need a striker that badly to cover.

Apparently his dry spell at Newcastle was due to a certain Alan Pardew playing him out of position... [Link] Couldn't make it up. Would love it if FdB gets him firing for us like Pardew never could. He knows the player, his best position, and what hs skill,set is. I am sure he would be coachable into being a decent squad striker, a step anyway from Campbell...

Good record at PSV so clearly knows how to score. Only 26 also so that is good. Benteke is the main man so he's only gonna be back up for most of the season. Wickham can't stay fit so if the price is alright then it could be good.

Are you kidding, this guy is useless and an example of someone who can't cut it at premier league level. He has no pace and I believe would be a huge waste of money. I would prefer we gambled on a prolific league 1 striker than opt for this guy.

My biggest fear this season is Benteke being out for any period. Would be delighted with this if true? Looks decent enough to me!
